Request a copy of your data
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
What you can ask for
You can request that we disclose:
- The categories of personal information we have collected about you.
- The specific pieces of personal information we hold, which for Stash is your account details and the journal content tied to your account: entries, photos, places, and profile.
- Where that information came from and the purposes we use it for, as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you instead want your data deleted, use Delete your account. This page is only about getting a copy.
How we confirm it is you
To protect your account, we verify a request before we act on it. Send the request from, or naming, the email address on your Stash account, and we will reply to that same address to confirm the request before we compile anything. We may ask one or two questions only a real account holder could answer. We will not send your data to any address other than the verified account email, and we never ask for your password.
How long it takes
We aim to respond within 45 days of verifying your identity. If a request is complex and needs more time, we will tell you and explain why. This response window is a policy we set and can change; the current commitment is stated right here.
A full self-service export inside the app is planned. Until it ships, we fulfill these requests manually, which is why the window above applies.
Make a request
Enter your account email and, if you like, add any detail about what you are asking for. After you submit, we send everything to our privacy inbox and reply by email to verify the request. Nothing is compiled or sent until you confirm from that email.
Prefer email? Write to [email protected] from your account address and we will take it from there.
